The Neighborhood

The South Zone, where the apartment is located, is the best part of Rio de Janeiro. Copacabana is the beach to the right, Ipanema is the one to the left. The apartment is located at Arpoador, the tip of land that extends to the ocean, located between the two best known beaches in the world.

Arpoador is a casual, laid-back neighborhood with a strong sense of community centered around
surfing. It is home to great hotels. There are many supermakerts, drugstores and restaurants within walking distance.

The best fish market in town is a few steps from the front door. Across the street from the building is the Cassino Atlantico Shopping Mall, with many art and antique stores. The area along the coast is the Garota de Ipanema (Girl from Ipanema) Environmental Preservation Area.
